Once a high school drop out, Monica now has a Bachelor of Education from SUNTEP, a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in English and is an MBA graduate. Monica is of Cree, Salteaux and French ancestry from Cumberland House. She is the youngest of thirteen children and is the sister of Keith Goulet, who was the first Métis cabinet minister with the provincial government. Her mother passed away at a young age and she was raised by her sister and brother-in-law. She credits them for giving her the confidence she needed to succeed.
Formerly the Cultural Diversity and Race Relations Coordinator for the City of Saskatoon, Monica has dedicated her life to tearing down walls of racism, sexism and low self-esteem. She is a published author and was recently awarded the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award for Community Building.
